About Me

Hello, all! My name is Savannah, and I’m about to enter my first real year of teaching. Up to this point, I’ve student taught and done a stint as a long-term substitute teacher.

In the fall, I’ll be splitting my time between teaching 9th Lit and 10th World Lit, neither of which I’m familiar with, so it’ll be a journey and a half, I’m sure. I couldn’t be more excited to tackle the 9th Lit curriculum in particular, though I’ve been told I’m crazy for wanting to work with freshmen so badly.

I’m making this blog, in part, because I truly struggle with the meaningful incorporation of technology in the classroom. Through my student teaching experience, some of the feedback I got again and again was that I needed to work on bringing technology into the classroom.

As such, this blog explores my emerging technological literacy. I’m going to try my dead-level best to expand my technological knowledge, so I can serve my students better moving forward, and I hope to do it in a way that appeals to other teachers also struggling with the concept.
